Well, a new S350 sells for $100 from Universal. I'm sorry if I've
insulted one of your radios (I own it, too!), but that puts it in the
approximate range of all three of the other radios. I'll stand by the
position that while there are some good reasons for me to keep my
S350, the other three radios are all much better ways to spend money
on a receiver. YMMV.

The suggestion that there are better portables, like the E1 and DX440,
is obviously correct. But most of these radios are much larger and far
more expensive. My favorites, in order, in my own collection include:

1. Eton E1
* 2. Sony ICF-2010
3. Grundig SAT 800
3. Sony SW 77
4. Magnavox D2935
5. Sangean ATS-803A/DX-440
* 6. Panasonic RF-2200
7. Radio Shack DX-390
* 8. Panasonic RF-2600
9. GE World Monitor
10. Panasonic B300
* 11. Grundig/Eton/Tecsun S350/BCL2000/DL
* 12. Redsun RP2100

* Plus the GE Superadio's are all very good on
a set-of-batteries and run for hours and hours
of radio listening enjoyment. - ymmv ~ RHF

As I started my first post - there is no one best radio. When it comes
to reviews, everyone will have slightly different opinions. I should
not have called the S350 a joke, but I really don't feel that it's as
good a shortwave radio as the other three I suggested. Since the
original poster mentioned listening to mediumwave, it might make the
cut.
