I want to buy an antenna analyzer and have narrowed it down to two.
What is the best one to buy from these two, Palstar ZM30 or Kuranishi BR-210
and why?
What are the pro's and con's between these two, if any?
Thanks
hi
there are a few good analizers out there assuming you are looking at
hf frequencies,
timewave makes anice unit, as does autek
mfj as mentioned here does some nice stuff
it was a tough choice for me not to many units but they are mostly
simular features depending on the type of work you need to do one
feature vs another might make a buying point with you
however i ended up w/the aea hf analysist, i got it mostly because
it could be run on batteries or adapter could be connected to a
computer after measurements to analyze data OR be connected to pc
for simutenious readouts
it was very rugged case lookes like it was ment to be dropped and
live membrane keypad so a little water mist /dust/dirt won't
gum it up
was very easy to use had both digital and graphical readouts and
the readouts were real time so i can just watch the meater and prune
/adjust antenna
aea gave me good support
thats just my 2cents i really like the timewave i just couldn't
afford it at the time but would consider one , one day never ever
saw one used.
i think the mfj are prob the lowest cost units i forgot which
but arrl recently did a shootout of the analyzers goto the arrl web
site and search the ast article their comparisons fo all the units
were really nice
if you don't need a portable unit visit arraysolutions.com they
mike a nice vector analyer that is great youll need a pc laptop to
use portabloe
good luck
