'Don't Get Your Hopes Up' Over April Revs, Says Analyst"

NEW YORK -- May 16, 2008: The RAB reported today that radio
revenues
fell by 1 percent in April, but Wachovia analyst Marci Ryvicker is
saying, "Don't get your hopes up."

Ha! Ha! It's because of all the money/resources wasted on the HD
Radio
farce.

Revenues do not decline due to capital expenditures. Revenues
decline
because the economy is in a near recession.

Your knowledge of business is so astronomically poor it is a source
of
ongoing amazement.
Just as I thought, the HD Alliance and its boosters are already
blaming the failure of HD radio on the recession!

Or the HD naysayers are blaming HD radio for the recesssion....which
is
it?- Hide quoted text -

HD Radio is to be blamed for radio's recession.

OK...Any facts to back that up?- Hide quoted text -

"Radio: How many people did it take to write that Clear Channel memo?"

"When BainCapital opened the books it revealed the enormous sums of
money and time wasted with HD Radio conversion – at $100K per
station....

So, a station is putting less than 1 percent of it's revenue into new and
experimental technology is causing a radio recession?- Hide quoted text -

"CLEAR CHANNEL PULLS THE PLUG ON SOME HD RADIO STATIONS"
"After conducting a survey of 340 HD2 stations to determine their
programming needs, the folks at Clear Channel have dumped a number of
their HD 'Format Lab' stations due to a lack of demand."

"Clear Channel's murky future"
"Sad because eliminating new hires (including sellers), failing to
replace those who leave, stopping all investment in the future, and
halting all advertising and research is the equivalent of saying that
necessity requires us to strangle the goose that lays the golden eggs,
even as the goose is up for sale."

Yup! No more investments in HD Radio!
