hospitality, facilities maintenance and sanitation industries, which would
grind to a halt without such employees...

Add the decrease in taxes. Let's say there are 3 million less occupied
dwelling units no longer producing tax base revenue. No sales taxes from
what is 4% of the population. Reduction of FICA payments. And the ripple
effect on retail and other sectors of a 4% reduction of the economy.

The disaster would be total, aside from the fact that logistically it can't
be done. And the probability of disruptive things ranging from strikes to
riots is huge.
