It's 10 Years old and the unique Parts like the LCD

the Parts and Repairs may exceed the value of Radio.http://www.mwcircle.org/res-receiver-rshackdx394.htm

Search for a USED Realistic {RadioShack} DX-394

Did the glass crack? If not portions of the edge connector may have
lost contact. Sometimes this can be repaired by applying increased
pressure to the edges of the LCD. Additionally, Check the connections
from the Driver IC to the LCD. Did a PCB trace crack or cold solder
joint fail?
