Ham Radio 'existed' before the so-called "Sound Card".
For that matter Radio was 'history' way before the "Sound Card".
radio just listen ~ RHF
The sound card makes decoding fax, rtty, etc. signals a lot easier. Let
software do the translation instead of buying a dedicated piece of
equipment for each type of signal. A sound card saves money.
