I am just posting this review for anyone who has noise problems. I also
posted it on eham.

The only reason I did not give this a five is because the level control
and bypass control are tiny buttons. The level control is accomplished
by holding down a tiny button and trying to count beeps. A very poor
idea. It should have been a rotary switch.

Now, the noise reduction. It is very very good. This device adapts the
amount of noise reduction to the amount of noise it receives. This makes
listening to a group on say 75 a real pleasure. The signals I receive
that are very good like 20 over hold my agc so that I am not receiving
noise. This then stops the ANEM from effecting the signal. When a weak
signal comes on, my noise starts to come up and I can hear the ANEM
start to force down the noise. There is a slight distortion of the audio
that does not affect readability.

The bottom line is that I can listen to a round table without listening
to noise with the exception noted below.

This device is not fast enough to stop lightening crashes.

This device is good enough that in the four days I have had it now, I
feel spoiled. I do not want to operate without it.

It was pricey, $200. But I feel it was worth it. And no, I have no
financial interest in Gap or any other company. BTW Gap antennas suck.
