That must have felt good. I'll bet it wasn't Chinese ammo.
When a local radio station went off the air in the '70s, a friend of mine
and I took some guns and a boatload of transistor radios we bought from
various second hand stores for next to nothing, stuff Radio Shack free
batteries in them, put them all on that station, and as the station signed
off, shot all the radios into smallish pieces..
Ceremony is everything.

My favorite is to shoot clocks, ones with big mainsprings that explode
when you hit them in the right place. My friend owns a jewelry store,
and they get crappy old clocks in all the time for repairs that are
never picked up when the owner gets the estimate for repairs that are
several times what the clock itself is worth after repairs.
One time, a spring flew an amazing distance when one of us hit it with a
44 magnum hollow point. There wasn't much left of the clock itself, and
the spring flew about 150 feet like a snake being tossed. Very
impressive. What a mess to clean up...
One thing that never disappoints is old melons that are past their
prime. We get them from a store's trash bin, and with hollow points, and
a .357,.45, or a .44 mag, they explode nicely, and are totally
biodegradable.
