It probably being a FM dual band (handheld) transceiver , by increasing
the
mic gain ,you'll also will increase the deviation .
Is that really what you want to do ?

The TV-V7A is a 50 watt mobile rig. However the same comment on mic gain
would probably apply. Perhaps talking a little closer to the mic might
help. Or perhaps there's a problem with the radio that needs to be taken
care of by a repair person.
