Default Hy-Gain AV-14AVQ

Here is the link to the assembly instructions of the AV-18AVQII.

As the previous poster said it uses traps.

Maybe you meant the AV-18VS which uses the coil at the base.

I would be interested if someone has the details of the coil, diameter,
number of turns and the spacing and the wire diameter as well.

Here is the link to the AV -18VS assy instructions:

The 14AVQ has several coils that act as traps to isolate 10, 15, and 20
plus load 40. So no a single coil will not work

The AVS vertical made with a single 18 foot piece of aluminum might as it
uses B&W coil stock and a connector wire with a clip. The coil in 3" in
diameter. Anything less would require experimenting
to match the bands.

Does anyone know the transformation of the loading coil of this antenna?
Or does someone have a picture of that coil? Will an 9:5 coil of an old
CB antenna work?
