I will be so VERY happy when this election is over, and this newsgroup
returns to discussion of shortwave radio. There are other newsgroups
dedicated to discussions of politics. Why has this newsgroup been
hijacked?
For me the reason is the media behavior in this election in which 99%
are for one candidate.

The mass media is ratings-driven; period. The people who watch TV love
their Obama. This is what happens when you deregulate broadcasting.
This is the Frankenstein's Monster known as Ronald Reagan coming back to
destroy the myopic right-wing creators.

I think journalism attracts the liberal thinkers just like engineering
attracts practical thinkers. It does not mean all are that way but the
population is biased that way so most of the media go for the liberal
candidate. The ratings do not change the way people think.

TV news has nothing to do with journalism.
