FWIW :

Another Case of . . . The Right Time and Place.

Always tried for the 12,759 kHz [USB] Frequency
for AFN Diego Garcia with No Luck.
EiBi Listing : 12759 kHz @ 03:00-15:00 UTC
USA AFRTS - E - SAs - /BIO
http://www.eibi.de.vu/
That would be from 7 PM to 7 AM Local PST
generally "Over-Night" Sunset-to-Sunrise.

However, the 4319 kHz [USB] Frequency for AFN
Diego Garcia did not seam likely during the Day :
Then I happened across this FMScan webpage
http://fmscan.org/mi.php?i=120285
which shows that AFN Diego Garcia is On-the-Air
@ 13:00 UTC until 03:00 UTC : Meaning that there
is a 2-Hour over-lap from 13:00 to 15:00 UTC for
the both Frequencies. That AFN Diego Garcia is
"On" from 5 AM to 7 PM Local PST. That's 1 to 2
Hours in the Morning 'before' and around Sunrise
and the Gray Line for me here in California.
So tune to 4319 kHz [USB] at 5 AM PST and
just . . . l - i - s - t - e - n - * . . .
* Turn "Off" the AGC and Turn "Down" {Reduce}
the RF Gain.

Note that EiBi Listing Confirms :
http://www.eibi.de.vu/
EiBi Listing : 4319 kHz @ 13:00-03:00 UTC
USA AFRTS - E - SAs - /BIO
That would be from 5 AM to 7 PM Local PST
generally Day-Time from Sunrise to Sunset
but with the 2-Hours in the Morning from 5 AM
{before} to 7AM {near} Sunrise; and the Grey
Line {Map}

More about the Grey-Line -aka- Solar Terminator
to follow . . .
