I had a S-38D in the mid 50's. It was pretty awful - it completly
overloaded so I had no idea where my (crystal controlled Viking
Adventurer) was transmitting and it drifted. Making a QSO was pretty
hit and miss. It might have some nostalgia value, but not 300 bucks
worth.
