Don't bother... Weller stuff is junk... that's why you're trying to

Do yourself a favor and try one of
these...http://www.hexaconelectric.com/thermo.html
They ain't cheap... but man do they last.
Weller makes junk better than your junk by maybe 40-50 dB.
Thanks for your unsolicited opinion.

Harold, I have no affiliation with Hexacon... or do I sell their
equipment. However, we do use their equipment... and it has proven to
be much more reliable than Weller stuff. I guess you get what you pay
for. Not surprising I guess.
Looking at some of your solder joints it shows you don't use a Weller,
perhaps you should?

I thought I was the only one to notice the over-cooked solder blobs. *I do
better than that w/ lead-free solder on Rogers PCBs w/ my Weller solder
station. *But then, I've been doing it for decades. *And, while some other
brands have failed us repeatedly, I've seen only ONE Weller station have to
be tossed out. *The way I see it, they're relatively inexpensive AND they
last.

I didn't realize so many people who work at Weller frequent this
group... lol
