Why don't you call Universal and Grove and talk with them. They have
some smart people there and they want your repeat business so they will tell
you the truth.

My personal thoughts, I like BearCats (Uniden)
They make a very nice little scanner that fits on your belt and looks just
like a police radio and they work great.
Be sure to get some software so you can load the local freq's. You should
be able to load about 300 freq.'s and that will cover most everything you
want to listen to.

Also, be sure to get the latest freq. updates from some of the "Online"
clubs that have freq list.
