Another thing Eduardo - WBZ went full time hd when it was authorized
back in November and since then they've started filling more and more
air-time hours with useless info-mertials and other pre-recorded junk.
Boston is a big radio town with lots of hd radio listeners (I
thought). What's going on here? Hd was going to save the U.S. radio
world.
1. We are in a recession. Traditional revenue is of 30% to 40% in the large
markets.
2. Nights have not been an important time to AM since the late 50's.
3. Not HD, not anything, can save AM now that the only mass appeal viable
format, talk, is moving to FM.
Now you'll tell me that info-mertial listenership has gone up 150%
since November and it's an up-and-coming format like Hindi radio or
Hispanic evangelical junk.
It does not matter what a station does after 8 or 9 PM. If they can make
money selling time, all the better in this moment.
So, if the cost of a radio station goes down, will you finally purchase one,
faux boy?
