Airborne were REALLY ****ed when they made those black berets standard Army
issue.. they had been for a very long time the most recognizable symbol of
Army Airborne, and they wore them with great pride, much the same as the
Special Forces Green Berets..

Oh really? That's a good story, I'll ask him if he knows about that or
not. I told him I didn't want a camo or anything because I'm not
serving now and I left it up to him.

When he told me what the hat looked like he said "these are the
baddest looking hats." When he gave it to me I about crapped,
definitely an eye catcher and I could see where one branch would be
ticked, especially with a design like that. Sharpest hat I ever owned,
now I can retire my Navy hat, which is sharp also, but not like this
