This is clearly an illegal CB amplifier. The idiot was stupid enough to
provide pictures which clearly showed that the back panel had printed on
it: 25 to 40 MHz amplifier. Quoting FCC rules:

47 C.F.R. § 2.815 External radio frequency power amplifiers.
(b) After April 27, 1978, no person shall manufacture, sell or lease,
offer for sale or lease (including advertising for sale or lease), or
import, ship, or distribute for the purpose of selling or leasing or
offering for sale or lease, any external radio frequency power amplifier
or amplifier kit capable of operation on any frequency or frequencies
between 24 and 35 MHz.

Hmm... that's an interesting legal point, as this device was manufactured
before that law came into effect. It is in fact, a VINTAGE illegal CB
amplifier.

I know this particular model pretty well because I once had to track down
a spur at some wierd VHF frequency that was the result of the finals
going into oscillation and causing interference with a broadcast
auxiliary
channel that a cutstomer of mine was using for remote pick-up.
