He's back, said he wasn't feeling well, still has a really nasty sore
throat. You can tell it in his voice, all broken up. Hate him or love
him, you have to admit, he does keep American shortwave alive.
I neither love him nor hate him. I just find him and his communication
style fascinating. He is, without a doubt, a compelling personality.
I imagine it won't be more than a decade or so after his demise that
someone writes a good, scholarly biography of the guy. He's a perfect
subject, given his influence on different levels of the culture
(religion, media, etc.)
On a related, old-SW-preacher note: Harold Camping has been calling
the exact day of the end of the world for a couple years now. It's in
late May, 2011, if I remember rightly. Last I heard, he was adamant
about that date.
Should the old guy live that long, his broadcasts up to that day --
and after, if, God forbid, he got it wrong -- should make fascinating
listening.
Brother Camping is even older than the Prophet; but those guys
sometimes go on forever.
