I'm in possestion of 4 LMX2326 PLL IC's and I'm looking for projects

I was thinking of building and designing an RF Signal Generator but
I'm confused about the VCO. Is it possible to use the LMX2326 to drive
a VCO built up of discrete components or do you have to work with an
VCO IC like the ones from minicircuits?
Hey OM:
Sure discrete is ok, you are going to use *GaAs fets i assume? *The
caveat is feedback the correct signal level to Fin or NOTFin.

I'll be using FET transistors, or experimenting. It's a learning
project anyway since I'm heading into microwave terrority next year
for my Master' degree. And I thought I'd get a head start by building
and designing some projects such as PLL driven VCO.
I'm now just looking for a good book on oscillator design. Any
suggestions?
Hey OM:
Nothing like a book to use for information like this.
I would point you to Electronic Design News. The monthly rag that has
plenty more up to date articles and information with footnotes.
There's cornucopia of info just in the footnotes alone in every
article.
I remember one article, I like to catch so called knowledgeable people
with: a modulation domain analyzer. Nobody ever heard of it, one of
the best tools ever invented. Is what an spectrum analyzer is to a
time based sweep scope: as the modulation domain analyzer is to a
spectrum analyzer,
