Well, there WAS that Stalin guy...
Uh, Stalin, regardless of his own atrocities, was fooled like everyone
else signing treaties with Germany during the '30s. Hitler was at odds
with Stalin during the entire last half of the '30s.
Right-wing industrialists propped up German military infrastructure.
Now what did Stalin do for Hitler?
Stalin created a non unified front against Hitler emboldening him.
Don't demean the 15 to 20 million Soviets that died fighting Hitler,
either. A toll far, far higher than the US had to endure.
Agreed. If it weren't for the Russians, we may never have won that war.
Hitler was mad as a hatter, trying to fight a war on so many simultaneous
fronts (along with turning on his allies in the middle of it all..)
I don't agree with that outlook. Hitler always crossed his fingers
behind his back when signing any treaty and decided not to honor the
nonaggression treaties he signed with the Russians starting a war on
both fronts for the Germans once he thought he had the western front
under control so don't thank the Russians thank Hitler for making his
biggest mistake in the WW2.
