? Is It : 'dog next door's" -or- "dog's next door" ?

Ooops!

No need to feel bad. If you take 'dog next door' as the possessive bit,
then 'door's' makes sense. You said the 'dog next door' has an opinion.

Either way works.

If we get really anal, it would be mostestly correct thus:

'Your opinion matters as much to me as the next door dog's.'

I know it's time to go to sleep when stuff like this starts looking
interesting.

Yeah...

(now laying awake, wondering what his neighbours' dogs' opinions really
are.)

Well, one dog hates me. He used to love me, but one of my dogs ****ed
him off when he came inside the house next door to visit everyone, and
got in bed with them and smooched with them for a while. They thought it
was hilarious, but Jake didn't appreciate him coming inside very much,
and it led to a nasty sounding fight, where Jake wound up on the losing
end to a dog eight years his senior.

After they had their little blowout, he bit me, and now, he won't even
look at me if I talk to him.

I doubt he has any opinion about Telemundoh, but he may think, "Any
enemy of my enemy.."

The Kookaburra dog story.

That's some great speculation coming from that Kookaburra warped mind of
yours. I don't know why you felt the need to let us know "what your dog
thinks" but it was a good example of projection. Keep up the good work
nut case.
