Default MFJ-1775 dipole installation and care?

Kris,

The best protection against rust it something usually found near the
shipping dock...lithium grease. The dipole looks strong. I have eliminated
coils in all but my 40 meter beam and there I use high grade electrical
black tape as do several manufacturers here in the USA.

I would be interested to find how the dipole works on 40 as its quite short
there electrically and probably very narrow banded. I have a friend with
the MFJ-1785 big brother and his works great on 40 but so far its down 2 S
units to a normal Dipole on 80.

I am in the process of adjusting and installing an MFJ-1775 multiband
dipole. I would appreciate any comments or useful advice from other
users before I proceed to the installation. Some of the concerns I
have a

- Should I cover the inductors to protect from the weather (rain,
ice)? If so, how?
- Should I take any other precautions to strengthen the antenna or
protect from corrosion?
- I have heard some users have burned up the inductors with only a few
hundred watts. Comments?
- Any other...?
