It also is not why the 'founders" revolted. THey knew
Taxation was necessary. They simply wanted the same
law applied to them--as all other English Citizens


They were ****ed because the British East India company was getting
unfair tax breaks, allowing them to undercut local merchants' prices,
particularly for tea. When the British East India company's tea ended
up in Boston Harbor, the English typically responded with hostility and
things just kind of snowballed from there.
