In most cases, HD does not even increase the power bill of a
transmitter plant by 10%... often much less. And the licence fee,
which is market based, is minimal. Many stations have leased HD3
channels for specialized programming, and are making money on that.

Only one significant group is approaching bankruptcy, and it is
unlikely that their FM HDs will be turned off.

I don't know what the link might be....to their balance sheet?

But CBS is doing it in plenty of places. (Do you think they are giving it
away for free?)

And someone is doing Russian something or other on one of the NYC HD's.
