Looks like they might be sending amplitude compandered single sideband
on 9330kHz. Glenn Hauser mentions this in one of his columns regarding
9330 using CUSB. You can test it out. Put your radio in LSB and you
hear very little. USB and you hear the normal signal. But you still
have a pilot carrier so it will sound OK in AM mode.

Isn't this what CHU and HD2IOA (Guyaqil, Ecuador) do with their time
signals? CHU on USB, HD2IOA on LSB - ? Each has a carrier, but only
one audible sideband.
