Default African relay stations on 41m, 8 April 2010

GERMANY: DW relay VIA RWANDA, 7240 kHz, 8 April 2010, 0405 onward.
SINPO = 35423. EE with news. Despite the propagation (not selective
fading either), surprisingly good signal overall on an evening when
the bands are generally very quiet - barely a peep from any European
stations. Gonna look for Ethiopia and Uganda again tomorrow morning
on 41m, maybe.

UNITED KINGDOM: BBC via AFRICA, SOUTH, 7310 kHz, 0409 onward. SINPO
= 35423. Ditto comments for above.

I noticed that CVC ZAMBIA, which was so potent (SINPO = 45444) on its
published frequency of 9430 the other evening in EE, was nowhere at
published OTA startup of 0400-0410, not even a faint whistle on
sideband. I will look again at 0500.

I am not sure what the solar storm wrought, but the bands are almost
noise-free and propagation is very path-specific tonight.
