Just to correct an error in the article that keeps getting picked up by the
press, this ban does not affect developers. Some idiot who smuggled one in
says it will because he is a developer and he wants to justify his smuggling
it in.
In reality, anyone developing software for a non-approved hardware platform
can get a small quantity of them in for development. You have to fill out
some paperwork and pay fees (around $100) for the shipper to get you
a permit and pass it around to the appropriate agencies.
All of the big courier agencies (FEDEX, UPS, DHL, etc) know exactly what to
do.
Been there, done that.
