Look, Mike:
I was the initial response with the questions about wall thickness and
alloy. Because the answers to his simple question are yes and no. Yes, I
have successfully used 2 7/8" tubing as he suggests, and no, 2 7/8" aluminum
thin wall tubing won't hardly support itself, nevermind an antenna. Now, I
suspect he has a particular piece of tubing in sight, or the specific size
wouldn't have been mentioned. But, diameter alone is not enough information
to give him a useful answer. And that makes it a less than serious
question.
