Best Emergency Radio?

What is the best emergency radio with solar and crank power, in your

JJ. in the July Mon. Times, they got a story/ comparison, of the
Eaton line. if your making up a "go bag", or some such, i would
go as small as possible. I got an Eaton FR-350 here. it was a
freebie from universal. has the crank and an LED light, no solar
panel. from the few articles i have read, the ones with the solar
panel are next to useless. may take days to charge. throw some
cheap batteries in the bag. also has "most" of the shortwave
band. most out there have MW/FM/ and a bit of the SW bands.
what do you want or need to hear? mine also cover the NOAA
weather band. it's up to you what you feel you might need.
so it's going to be what's best for you. the Eaton are as good
or better than most. check the Universal web site, google for
ETOW, and see what they are giving away. Ears To Our World, has
given radios out to the back water schools/teachers all over
the world. so, i would say the one they give out would have
to be reliable. just a thought. please post what you decide
to get and why. good luck.
