Well, commercial radio has always been that way, since the beginning of the
medium and the very first ads (KQW in 1909 in San Jose). If you want radio
that caters to you as a listener, I suggest you support your local
non-commercial stations, since to them YOU are the customer, given that they
depend on your dollars.
Actually, I support KPFT in Houston and SOMA FM. I listen to them on
the internet. I have a mobile 3g wireless hotspot and I can listen to
any station anywhere I go. HA!
