Have you tried the Collins reflector? Looks like one either made for or
adapted for the military.

It was built by the French company CIT, but it clearly is a Collins tuner,
with two vacuum variable capacitors and two fixed ones.

Any information would be appreciated, especially the Collins model number and
(dream!) the schematic diagram
