Don't know that you would really call Dave's statements "paranoid".. just
think for a moment: if times are as dire as they would need to be for the
necessity of USING that food and other provisions, no matter how well
prepared and armed you happen to be, there will likely be someone out
there who will be as well armed as you, with the added incentive of being
hungry and in need of provisions. It would then become a matter of who got
the first good shot off.
