There are actually no such things as "criminal rights". What many call
criminal rights are actually the rights of all citizens (and even
non-citizens within our justice system) to protect them from unjust
deprivation of life, liberty or property. This is why our system of
juris prudence is SUPPOSED to work on the principal of "innocent until
proven guilty". It's not perfect, but it's about as close as humans will
ever get.
Well, yes, and no ...
When a congressman "forgets" to pay his taxes and he just suddenly
apologizes and pays them--that is criminal rights ...
When a congressman is "accused" of "inappropriate behavior" with his/her
aids and it is just forgotten--that is criminal rights ...
When a public servant get "special rights" and is allowed to escape
criminal punishment, as I am sure you have seen before--that is criminal
rights ...
Or, there are criminal rights, alright ... it is just shocking who the
criminals are!
