Default US radio stations and Japan coverage

It seems that some local TV stations in West Coast markets have

such a thing is no longer conceivable?

Good question. I'm not aware of KGO or KCBS sending anyone over
there. I just checked the websites of a few news stations in L.A.
and Seattle and also didn't see any mention of that. Even the two
stations that are co-owned with TV stations (KNX and KOMO) didn't
mention a TV person being in Japan. I guess everyone's just picking
up reports from their affiliated networks. Or they have sent their
own reporters, but as is all too common, you can't find a darn thing
about the stations themselves on their websites.
