First off, thanks for the quick reply!

No, it doesn't compress itself, but there are many ways to charge
batteries and compress air, some of which will still be viable even in a
catastrophic economic breakdown -- but only one or two ways to fuel a
gasoline engine.

True.

Because he would restore sanity to government? Because criminal
public servants fear they could end up in prison?

Indeed.

Good to hear that! Half the battle is reaching agreement on the
problem(s) and the proper solutions.

Given a few years to work out the short-term dislocations caused by a
military cutback, I think we would all be _much_ better off with people
working for good and productive and progressive purposes, instead of
making perpetual war on Israel's real and imagined enemies and murdering
them on a mass scale (and recruiting ten times as many as we kill into a
worldwide army of the enraged against us).

Yes, well, let's get those boys home, keep 'em out of unemployment lines
and put 'em on the boarders where the real invaders and enemies are, the
wetbacks causing unemployment problems and 3rd world conditions, here,
in the first place! Coast guard could use a few ships/boats and some of
those guys too.

So, your questions is? Perhaps, "Why do the Swiss still appear to be
sane and rest of the world crazy and insane?" Did I get the question
right?

Yes, and the answer too.

Yes, I agree ... we need ROTC classes in high school with excellent
weapon training programs. When the students graduate, they need to be
issues a good pistol and an assault rifle. They should be required to
maintain it in a good condition and be ready to be called up as local
militias to meet any threat(s) on American shores. They should feel
patriotic, proud and an important part of America!

N2IRJ's antenna came down in a storm, so the signals weren't as good on
the temporary backup antenna. It's being worked on.

Too bad he doesn't live closer to me, would drive over for an antenna party!
