How about us taxpayers? Why support WWV and GPS?

Why support GPS?

Probably because there are -millions- of civilians (taxpayers) that use
it...hikers, pilots, mariners and did I mention -millions- of people
driving their cars wanting to find their way over the river and through
the woods to grandma's house with their GPS.

I understand why to GPS. Why support that AND WWV. No scientists uses
WWV anymore. It was valuable when you used celestial navigation to steer
and zero beat oscillators to tune, but those are lost arts these days.

Now WWVB is still important, as it sets all my clocks.
