heard worldwide in dozens of languages for 70 years.

A strategic technology plan prepared by the Broadcasting Board of
Governors (BBG), the federal agency responsible for Voice of America,
Alhurra, Radio Free Asia and other international stations, concludes
that it should end many shortwave broadcasts in favor of "more
effective" media such as internet radio.

Hello dxAce

Radio Nederland Wereldomroep (Radio Netherlands World Service,http://www.rnw.nl/english) also has to deal with financial cuts.
They will "change focus".

According to the latest plans, this means they will virtually end
transmissions in Dutch, but continue transmissions to areas where
freedom of press isn't in the dictionary.

With kind regards,

This would probably work. It will still get to the people for whom
freedom of speech and internet access are quite limited.
