First there was a fire in the 300m IJsselstein (lopik) tower, some
hours later there was a fire in the "Smilde" tower (also about
300m/980ft).

The construction (Smilde tower) couldn't resist the heat and
collapsed, see the video.

Now 80% of the Netherlands can't get national radio over the air (as
the Lopik tower is still inoperative because of investigation).

Almost sounds like arson if fire pops up in two of them
hours apart.
Kind of reminds me of one we had fall several years
ago. But it was taller than that one. About a 2000
foot job, and it killed seven people that were assembling
it at the time.
Here is some old video of it.. This is just a few miles
from my house. I can see them from here if no trees are
in the way. There are several tall BC towers out at that
senior road site.
