Subject: [Worldradio-l] WRO News: Please keep 7065 clear for Hurricane Karl
traffic

From the WorldRadio Online Newsroom...
Hurricane Karl is coming onshore in Mexico today as a Category 3
hurricane, packing top winds of 120 miles per hour. The Mexican
Emergency Net is operating on 7065 kHz. All stations not involved in
passing hurricane-related traffic are requested to keep that
frequency clear, according to IARU Caribbean area Emergency
Coordinator Arnie Coro, CO2KK.
In addition, WX4NHC at the National Hurricane Center announced
yesterday that it would be monitoring HF and Echolink as the storm
progressed. The HF frequency was not included. WX4NHC primarily
monitors the Hurricane Watch Net frequency of 14.325 MHz +/- QRM. As
of 1645 UTC today (17 Sept), however, the HWN was not active and it
was not clear whether WX4NHC was still monitoring.
