Actually, his license expired in 2005, right around the time the FCC
affirmed the NAL. He retains his operating privileges because a
renewal application was properly filed just before his license
expired. The application was initially granted, then reversed and set
aside "for enforcement action" and until they rule on the application
he retains his license. Currently his license will continue literally
*forever* waiting on the FCC to do something with his application.
All the FCC has to do is deny his renewal and his license is gone.

The problem is getting him to surrender the license.

As I said, sooner or later the FCC will show up with US Marshalls and
they will take away his toys... Him too.

The next step towards that is to deny his pending application and yank
his ticket. When they finally do pull the ticket, nothing will
change. It may make it easier for the FCC to fine him for
transmitting, but I don’t think 14 MHz will be any different.

I don't think the US Marshalls will ever show up and haul him to jail.
They may come to evict him if he looses his house due to the fines,
but we are talking a LONG time before they fine him out of house and
home at this pace. They may try to take his toys once he’s a pirate,
but given the FCC's slow pace up to this point I think he will be SK
for a few weeks before his station stops transmitting. (And I'll bet
it won't properly ID when the relays and tape players finally quit..)
Of course I sure hope they can get him off the air sooner rather than
later. It would be nice to get 14.275 back soon.

I think that is close to what I was saying in my last post. It will
take time..

Of course it is a bit like an issue that came up at church.. I told
people.. The question is not WILL it happen, It will.. It is will our
grandkids still be alive to see it happen.
