Default Sony shortwave automobile radios.

These are commonly sold in the Far East and the Middle East. For Europeans
and in the Americas it is possible to add one to your 'wheelS': buying one
on Ebay or the internet. Because your new car dealer will not have one
available.

For example: Sony Shortwave CDX-GT570S

I would be curious for anybody's experience about how much interference a
running motor makes to this radio's SW reception while traveling down the
road?

I had one of the Sony SW sets in my Hyundai, with excellent results. No more
ignition noise in the SW than in the MW band. Good reception and AGC action.
Unfortunately, I had to let it go with the car when I sold it because I no
longer had the original radio.
