Just downloaded and am playing with psk31 software. I can receive ok as I
have
a cable for that( standard plug to plug). I would like to transmit but do

not
have the cable. Looking to homebrew something simple until I can afford

the
Rascal GLX. I mean something real simple like just some wires plugged to

the
appropriate pins on my mic jack. I have an IC 718. I just don't know

which
pins to go to. I'm thinking I want to trigger the vox . . . That just

sounds
like the easiest way. I do have some homebrew experience as I built a

20meter
rockmite into an altoids can. . . and it works. Minimal, but I am fairly

new
to this. Licensed under a year.

Although a galvanic hook-up is considered OK by many , galvanically
separated connections between soundcard and transceiver for RX , TX aswell
as PTT are recommended.
It can be simply done by means of 2 small audio type of transformers a few
resistors and trimpots ,usually from a junk box ,ex transistor radio or
modem ,with the PTT through an opto-coupler.
If you are interested I can send you a scanned image of a simple circuit
diagramme ,which I implemented myself and is working well .
