Isn't the mega-talker in Sacramento that runs/(used to run?) HD-Radio on
1530 or 1540? *Having 50kw in their digital sideband would sure screw
that up.

KFBK has a 2 tower Franklin antenna, 50KW on 1530

That's the one. *They seem to have quit running HD at night.
Back when all that mess was starting, they were one of the only
two or three HD signals I could hear, here in Seattle.

KFBK on 1530 kHz was running HD Buzz at
least until 2 AM last night; and KFI on
640 kHz seems to be running the HD Buzz
all night long : As heard here in Twain
Harte, CA ~ RHF

OK, I finally heard 1520 (K)KXA early this morning. My guess is that it
must be 25-30 miles to the North, but it was down in the mud and KFBK
1530 Sacramento and KGA 1510 Spokane were louder. KFBK's HD sidebands
were there, but not as audible as I remember from a few years ago.

That was on my Grundig FR-200. Nothing on my R-1000.

Gee, it helps if I have something hooked up to my Kenwood's Medium Wave
antenna input. The thing is damn deaf on Medium Wave but it shouldn't
have been that bad. (I live about 5 miles from KOMO-1000, and most of
the other high power stations on Vashon/Maury Island, (710, 880, 1090*,
570) so it's a "don't bother unless you like intermod" situation most
of the time).

*(No Wolfman Jack in my neighborhood).

Hooking up the random wire, 1520 is still not a very clear or strong
signal, S6. KRKO-1380 (co-located?) is S7 and a pretty good signal.
KOMO is S9+35 dB, (which I think is maxed out).

I believe you now, Roy. I wasn't sure. ;-)
