I need to put a hole in the house through new vinyl siding and would like to
know if anyone has a clean neat way to do it. Do they make feedthroughs for
cable as big as RG8? Any suggestions ?
I brought mine up from ground level at the corner of the house
and ran it up underneath (inside) the piece of vinyl the covers
the corner. Then ran it behind the siding to the point where
it enters the structure, and hooked to a right-angle adapter
(from Radio Shack) and went through the wall. Can't even tell
the coax is there.
If you do it this way, you'll obviously have to "unhook" one
piece of siding from the one below in order to run the coax.
There's a special tool for this, which you might be able to
borrow from a siding installer. Or, it can be done almost
as easily using a screwdriver and some stout fingers. Getting
the siding loose is pretty easy - putting it back together is
a bit tougher until you get the hang of it.
