Wrong group. sci.electronics.repair might be more appropriate.

I have a Timex T311 clock radio.

Seems like it used to get FM, but now all I get is a single
statiky station across all FM frequencies. Uses a single
wire antenna about 20" inches long.

According to the FAQ, that's the FM antenna:

Pulled it apart and the wire is connected to a board. The
placement of the wire is hard to see, with a blob of hot glue
on the connection.

Is the antenna broken, or something else? Curiosity more than anything.

Break off the yellow goo. Find a 20" piece of wire, and connect it to
where the the antenna attaches. If it works the same, it's not a
broken wire antenna. I can't tell from here what is broken. My
guess(tm) is that it's something else. Since you can hear one
station, the FM receiver is functioning and just lacking in
sensitivity. That would mean a problem with the 20" antenna or the
receiver front end (RF amplifier section). Since it's probably an all
digital receiver, it's probably something blown in the AM/FM receiver
chip.
