Default Neato! Cheap VLF converter!

In article , says...

I was going to buy a Palomar VLF converter for my FT-857D
but stumbled on this website:

http://home.att.net/~jacksonharbor/lfconv.htm

For $12 shipped I got a kit which took an hour to assemble, taking
my time & trying to do a good cosmetic job on the breathmints tin
that holds the project.

$99+shipping for the Palomar? Forget that! This thing rocks! I
ordered the 14 mhz version and on a 134' dipole I'm hearing
WWVB (60kc) LOUD! I'm also picking up a 100w 100' antenna
NDB on 261 kc about S9+20. The co-ordinates for this beacon
are about 21 miles away, due south.

The DGPS signal at 306kc is even louder - S9+50!

It's easy to build with only 1 trimmer cap to set the conversion
rate. I used the program CWGET to measure WWVB at a dial
indicated 1000hz offset. CWGET allowed me to adjust the VLF
converter to +/- 1hz! Neato!

Not too shabby for $12 shipped!

Pics on request....

Did you say 1 134' dipole? Where do you live? Must not
be in the US. The dipole would be total overkill.
