MDSR V2.5 has now been released (multi plaform IF-SDR interface) RIG upgrade

The new SDR upgrade software can be downloaded from the Yahoo user Group:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mdsradio/

Please join the group to access all the information and instructiuons on
how to upgrade all different types of radios.

The new update builds on the multi platform system (FT-817,857,897,
IC-7000, IC703,706 and more) and provides IF SDR capabilities to these
transceivers. All that is required is the LIF2012 PCB and it connects the
radio via the IF down-converter to the sound card.

The new V2.5 has a new filter slope setting for the RX and TX filter which
allows to precisely tailor the LIF filter response for extreme audio
clarity. Adjustment instructions can be found in the pdf manual which is
accessible through the "Disk" icon on the MDSR-spectrum analyzer window -
click on "Manual MDSR-J Engine".

The MDSR software is free to use as long as it is for non commercial HAM
radio purposes.

Thanks a lot and have a great time with the new release;

The MDSR Team

A Co Tyrone amateur radio enthusiast claims to have averted disaster during
the recent hurricane that hit NY,

though there seems to be some confusion as to the validity of the story,
any way here is the story from the

Ulster Telvision News Service. And if true, well done him. A confirmation
from you chaps in the USA would be nice.

Regards

Damian
