The Constitution is dead?
Not to worry. An exact quote from our past Republican president,
George W. Bush: "The Constitution is just a piece of paper".
Now, how can you argue with that kind of logic from such a great
intellect?
It was a Republican -- Lincoln -- who actually arrested and
imprisoned the members of a state legislature who he suspected were
about to "vote wrongly." Talk about unconstitutional!
The trashing of the constitution has gotten so bad that we now have
achieved _precisely_ what the founders were striving to avoid: an
omnipotent legislature that can pass any law whatsoever that gets a
majority vote, even ones taking away our freedoms and granting
massive new unheard-of powers to the state; and the executive can
create any office or power it can get away with, and imprison and
even kill anyone it chooses on the slightest pretext; with the
government entirely subservient to the largely-alien money power.
With all good wishes,
Kevin Alfred Strom.
