Phil Theis K3TUF has a modest station that works all bands from below 160
to 47 GHz. It would be nice to control all that, and he's been through
several iterations. The current one is a browser-based "Radio Server". He's
probably not done.

Tom McDermott N5EG put together a (relatively) simple system for measuring
the ionosphere. No, you don't have to be NASA to do that... you just have
to be Tom.

HRN 233: MDSR (Mod/Demod Software Radio) from the DCC

From the 2015 ARRL-TAPR DCC. MDSR and the LIF and BiLIF interface boards
grab the signal from your HF radio's IF, send it to your PC, digitize it,
and bring it out to you with a computer interface. If that sounds like a
Software Defined Radio, that's what it is.
Alex Schwarz VE7DXW is the presenter, and it's the TAPR chalk-talk, so
you'll miss the slides. See if you need'em.
